And if you don't think Dean's comments represent the Democratic party, then why is Senator Biden saying this:

"A lot of the things he (Howard Dean) does say, I agree with. But you know, he has a style that's a different style than mine, and he has views that are slightly different than mine. Only slightly. He's basically right on the stuff."

I guess non-white Christians can take comfort in the fact that the Democratic Party doesn't hate them, it only panders to them. Why, in Heaven's name, does anyone vote Democrat these days?

1. At the beginning of the trial, once more the brothers must insist on proving that torture was inflicted on them by State Security [investigators] before the judge.
2. Complain [to the court] of mistreatment while in prison.
3. Make arrangements for the brother?s defense with the attorney, whether he was retained by the brother?s family or court-appointed.
4. The brother has to do his best to know the names of the state security officers, who participated in his torture and mention their names to the judge. [These names may be obtained from brothers who had to deal with those officers in previous cases.]
5. Some brothers may tell and may be lured by the state security investigators to testify against the brothers [i.e. affirmation witness], either by not keeping them together in the same prison during the trials, or by letting them talk to the media. In this case, they have to be treated gently, and should be offered good advice, good treatment, and pray that God may guide them.
6. During the trial, the court has to be notified of any mistreatment of the brothers inside the prison.

According to the Drudge Report, the NY Times is planning on running a 6,000 word article describing the "brutal details of 2 Afghan inmates deaths" over two years ago. The release of this article now, on the heels of the Newsweek NEWSFLUSH, highlights the total lack of sensitivity of the MSM to the potential impact of this story on the Muslim world and the safety of our troops in the Middle East (and the anti-war, liberal Democrats keep chanting "we support our troops"). The writing style of this piece comes across as a poor attempt from a failed romance novelist...you know, the ones who try to make up a flowery story about some incident that happened in their lives. The fact that "last October, the Army's Criminal Investigation Command concluded that there was probable cause to charge 27 officers and enlisted personnel with criminal offenses in the Dilawar case ranging from dereliction of duty to maiming and involuntary manslaughter. Fifteen of the same soldiers were also cited for probable criminal responsibility in the Habibullah case..." (i.e., the Army was already investigating these incidents) was incidental. The Army is not moving fast enough to prosecute these individuals, according to the NY Times, so now is the time to release this story to further inflame passions in the Middle East and get some more people killed!

The rags that print these stories are so blindly anti-US, anti-military and anti-Bush that I cannot even remotely believe that they "cannot see the forest for the trees". They still think that they're living in the Vietnam era and their job is to bring an end to what they consider is an unjust war, regardless of the cost in human lives, US or otherwise. Why else would the president of the 35,000-member Newspaper Guild (Linda Foley) assert U.S. troops deliberately are killing journalists in Iraq. Here is the statement from this poor excuse of a journalist:

According to a tape of her remarks, Foley said: "Journalists, by the way, are not just being targeted verbally or … ah, or … ah, politically. They are also being targeted for real, um … in places like Iraq. What outrages me as a representative of journalists is that there's not more outrage about the number, and the brutality, and the cavalier nature of the U.S. military toward the killing of journalists in Iraq."

Foley continued, "They target and kill journalists … uh, from other countries, particularly Arab countries like Al -, like Arab news services like al-Jazeera, for example. They actually target them and blow up their studios with impunity. ..."

Naturally, she presented absolutely no evidence to support her claims.

We know, and are fighting, the enemy in the Middle East. It's the enemy within that worries me.

Well, the saga continues. In my post from 1 April 2005 (Who Fired the First Shot?), I noted how liberals were turning the Terry Schiavo case into a diatribe against Conservative Christians, complaining that their strong "right-to-life" position was going to result in violence against the judiciary, much as Bill Clinton blamed Rush Limbaugh and Conservative talk radio for the Oklahoma City bombing. In that post, I pointed out that it's been the liberals who have been firing the shots (in the form of food) at numerous Conservative speakers (Buchanan, Coulter, etc.).

Apparently, the liberals feel that they're not getting their message out with enough emphasis. The Drudge Report is reporting that Air America, that noble bastion of liberal talk radio, has run a radio spot against President Bush's Social Security plan which includes gunshots. ""What is with all the killing?" said host Randi Rhodes, laughing, after the clip aired. There is no question as to who the intended target is, and the Government is investigating.

UPDATE I: I see that the Drudge Report now indicates that Ms. Rhodes has apologized for the skit. See what the threat of a Secret Service investigation will do for you? Take it for what it's worth but, to me, this apology is as meaningful as Sandy Berger apologizing for making an "honest mistake" in removing and destroying classified documents from the National Archives. If the liberals have any sense of decency or patriotism, Air America will fire her on the spot (but I'm not holding my breath). I wonder when/if the MSM will report on this?

The Subtle Anti-Christian Message of ABC

Perhaps it's just me, but I've become almost hypersensitive about the anti-Christian messages that come through the MSM. Two recent examples are from ABC television...you know, the network brought to you by Disney, the "family-friendly" folks.

First, there's the show "Desperate Housewives". Now, there may be much about the explicit morality (or lack thereof) of the show that causes severe discomfort (such as the homosexual tryst between Bree's underage son and a "friend" in the neighbor's pool), but that's just the blatant stuff. No, the subtle in-your-face anti-Christian message for me comes in the character played by Nicolette Sheridan, the cold, calculating and loose "neighbor" on the show. In numerous scenes where she's flaunting her sexual aggressiveness, we see that she's wearing a cross around her neck. This characterization of Christians is typically out-of-phase with how we are usually presented in the media, i.e., the morally, socially and politically uptight conservative citizens who pass judgment on everybody while wallowing in our hypocritical actions and decisions. The character of Bree is more representative of the stereotype of the typical Conservative Christian but, to my knowledge, her religious leanings have not yet been explicitly addressed, only implied.

For my second example, on last night's episode of the Disney mini-series "Little House on the Prairie" (which I'm going to assume that you are familiar with from the pro-morality television show of the same name starring Michael Landon) we were introduced to Mrs. Scott, a morally, socially and politically...well, you get the picture. Her most offensive remarks were parlayed around the old cliche "the only good Indian is a dead Indian" (which she also used). Now, the character of Mrs. Scott (who is from Scotland, by the way, and whose personality we find out was responsible for driving one of her sons out of the house) is a grotesque woman who is seen in several scenes stuffing her mouth with food. During one such scene, she begins to choke. The choking lasts for several seconds, during which time she is clutching her hands around her throat while she tries to clear it. Eventually she does and, when she lowers her hands, lo and behold we see the symbol of all of the bigotry and gluttony embodied in Mrs. Scott's utterly offensive personality... a cross on a chain around her neck.

Has anyone else noticed these little nuances in our TV programming? Not the obvious ones, mind you, where Christianity is symbolically beaten over the head with a club, but the insipid, subliminal anti-Christian messages that the networks sneak into their programming. If anyone has other specific examples of where they think that this has occurred, I would love to hear about them and post them. If you have links to them, so much the better.

The only way that we can combat these attacks from the media is to first become aware of them. The Culture Wars are upon us and we need to defend ourselves.

Perhaps Sandy Berger Should Have Borrowed the UN's Shredder

Sandy Berger could only come up with a pair of scissors to shred the classified documents he intentionally stole and "lost" from the National Archives to avoid embarrassment to the Clinton Administration regarding anti-terrorism efforts (what did the Clinton Administration know, and when did they know it!):

"Rather than misplacing or unintentionally throwing away three of the five copies he took from the archives, as the former national security adviser earlier maintained, he shredded them with a pair of scissors late one evening at the downtown offices of his international consulting business."

Can't the Democrats afford a shredder? Maybe the next time (I'm sure that there will be a next time) they can borrow the one at the UN (posted at Human Events Online).

It sounds a lot like Bill Clinton's salvo blaming Rush Limbaugh and conservative talk radio for the Oklahoma City bombing.

But look which side is firing the first shots! I doubt that anyone other than the Loony Left would ever stoop this low, let alone do what Krugman and Kennedy suggest. Why are Democrats/Liberals never ashamed of themselves?

Terri Schiavo: Law of Judiciary Trumps Law of God = Hell to Pay

The state-sanctioned killing of Terri Schiavo, although not complete as of this posting, is not merely sad or unfortunate, it is a tragic and reprehensible blemish on the morality and fate of our society. How, in God's name, did repugnant reviling of innocent human life come to this (don't tell me, I already know). God granted humanity free choice so that we may choose His ways over our earthly entanglements and desires, thereby returning to eternal life with Him, but what morally reprehensible choices we are making. There is no moral defense, judicial decision or human law that can ever justify what we have done to Terri Schiavo.

Whether you believe in God or not, whether you think you can rationalize that it's OK to kill Terri based on the evidence, whether you think I'm right or wrong about any or all of this, we cannot, any one of us, escape His Truth and His Judgment.

To Michael Schiavo, Brian Schiavo, their lawyers, their supporters, all of the judges who refused to honor innocent life and consider all of the facts in their judgments, members of Congress who voted against life, the members of the MSM who came up with their biased polls and misrepresented "facts", and all those whose motivation in this travesty is purely political, I pray that God will have mercy on your souls. Lord knows, I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make that decision.

Tragically, we've waxed the skis, strapped them on and are rapidly accelerating down into the abyss far faster than I ever would have feared possible. The pro-life, pro-Judeo Christian, pro-moral absolutist community needs to seriously wake up and understand that we are no longer dealing with a "worthy" political opponent in an "honest" exchange of ideas. We are dealing with an internal ideological enemy that is interested only in the extended, systematic dismantling of the moral foundations of our society. How Satan must be laughing at us now.

Today is a day for wondering why on earth anyone would vote Democratic or believe in the Democratic Platform. There are numerous good blogs out there that provide postings that I'm reflecting here, and I invite all readers of this post to access the links provided on my blogsite to get a more complete and informed picture of what's going on. I'm just too upset with the Democrats right now to build all of the appropriate specific links into this posting. So, yes, call today's post by me a rant. What has put me in this frame of mind?

Democrats (and Mark Schiavo's lawyer) reprehensively criticize Republican efforts to delay the removal of Terri Schiavo's feeding tube as being politically motivated
A registered sex offender abducts and kills Jessica Lunsford while Democrats work harder to protect the rights of criminals and terrorists while turning their backs on the protection of innocent life
Democrats crusade (to the extreme) to protect innocent wildlife but refuse to support the protection of innocent human life

Only moral relativism would allow a person to consider the fate of Terri Schiavo and those like her, as well as unborn human life, in the context of politics. Anyone who has a feeling and spiritual heart, and searches within themselves to tap into their moral conscience knowing all the facts of the argument, would instantly recognize that the taking of innocent life is a moral absolute - it is evil. Unfortunately, many Democrats appear not to have a heart.
There are many characteristics that the Democratic leadership seem to share with their totalitarian brethren, e.g., the willingness to lie and deceive to promote a political agenda or their own personal power, the use of conspiracy theories instead of facts to create divisiveness, the hypocrisy of intolerance of other viewpoints (even while attacking others for being intolerant), and the list goes on:

Which party compares Republicans/Conservatives to Hitler/Nazis while trying to constantly stifle constructive debate and promote "rule of the minority" and "rule of the Government" instead of "Government of the people, by the people and for the people"
Which party considers Republicans/Conservatives of being mindless "sheeple", while they thrust their elitist views at America without regard for the will of the people?

I apologize but, as I said earlier, this is my own personal rant. I sincerely hope and pray that anyone who may be undecided about their political orientation will please read through the many blogs on the Internet, both from the Left and from the Right. See for yourselves which ones support their positions with linkable facts to the original sources rather than jingoistic rants (I'm not talking about the comments sections or the links to other like-minded bloggers - go directly to the original source). For the life of me (and the life of Terri Schiavo, people like her, and the unborn) I can't understand why anyone would continue to vote Democrat!

Man Plays God - Part II

CNN is reporting this story, which is also being blogged at Captain's Quarters.

"A critically ill 5-month-old was taken off life support and died Tuesday, a day after a judge cleared the way for doctors to halt care they believed to be futile. The infant's mother had fought to keep him alive."

I posted a few days ago about the Groningen Protocol in the Netherlands, which specifically calls for parental approval before euthanizing infants, and how the practice of euthanasia by the State can start us down a slippery slope (look at the euthanasia statistics in France). With this case, which overrode the infant's mother's wishes (regardless of her mental state, which some have questioned), we have exceeded even the constraints of the Groningen Protocol. The trip down the slippery slope in the devaluation of innocent life is even faster than I had feared.

Maryland Democrats Prefer Tax Revenue to Black Spiritual Revenue

The next time a Democrat politician tries to tell you that they are not opposed to the growth of the Christian church, point them to this article, which was mentioned on Hugh Hewitt's blog this morning. Some of the notable quotes from the local politicians for discouraging church growth in Prince George's County, MD?

"We don't oppose churches," County Council Chairman Samuel H. Dean (D-Mitchellville) said. "The concern we have is that sometimes churches eat up a lot of land that could be used for other things." (Those other things being projects such as National Harbor, the planned $2 billion hotel, office and entertainment complex along the Potomac River.)

"We're losing tax money and retail," council member Camille Exum (D-Seat Pleasant) said. "And increasingly, [churches] are requiring more space." "None of us are against God," Exum said. The county, however, has been willing to use zoning regulations to limit church growth.

Even though there are a number of Catholic, Protestant, Muslim and Hindu churches in the area, the article states that "It is the dramatic growth of black Protestant denominations...that has drawn the concern of county officials."

"What I hear from residents is that they don't feel like these churches are being an asset to the community," said council member David Harrington (D-Cheverly) who represents Mitchellville.

Of all the abhorrent things that are done under the banner of the U.N., the exploitation of women and children is, by far, the worst. Perhaps it's time for the U.S. to seriously consider withdrawing its funding of the U.N., and for the "multilateralist" liberal Democrats to acknowledge that it's the U.S., not the U.N., that represents the best hope for a moral confrontation and victory over evil.

Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics (or Beware When You Go To The Polls)

Mucho kudos to Ankle Biting Pundits for exposing another fraudulent, anti-Bush poll (by the AP), this one regarding President Bush's Social Security Plan. They have done previous good work in exposing the fallacy of other poll results here (by the NYT) and here (by the MSM).

Please, read these posts in detail to understand how the media can mislead the public by not reporting the characteristics of the data upon which the poll numbers are based. Whether this approach is sinister or just plain sloppy reporting is hard to say. I work with statistical data all of the time, and I'm always reluctant to release any data analysis results without a full, detailed and documented disclosure of how the data was collected, analyzed and interpreted. Without this underlying analysis, there are too many people who are willing to take only the summarized results and spin them to suit their own interpretation and agenda.

Regarding poll results, no matter who reports them, you should always investigate to find out the following information, at a minimum:

Who conducted the poll (and is there any reason to believe they might be biased or have a hidden agenda)
The number of people participating in the poll
How the samples are selected (samples must always be selected at random in order for the results to be unbiased - you shouldn't collect data only from angry young men to assess exit polls)
Where the samples are selected from (selecting all samples randomly from NYC is really not a random sample, given the liberal tendencies of NYC)
The percent distribution of the sample demographics, which should reasonably reflect the percent distribution of the population demographics in order for the results of the poll to be valid. If they don't reasonably match, then the poll results are biased - find out why! By demographics, I mean things like age, gender, race, Democrat vs. Republican, Liberal vs. Conservative, registered voter vs. unregistered voter, geographic location, income levels, education levels, religion, marital status, etc.

The casual observer needs to understand that the intentional or unintentional manipulation of any of these demographics will provide poll results that are not representative of the opinions of the population. It's important that bloggers expose lies. It's critical that bloggers expose damn lies. It's imperative that bloggers expose the lies and damn lies that are fed to us through the unscrupulous use and reporting of statistics.

Extremists of a Feather Stick Together

Jihad Watch has posted regarding an offer of "friendship and support" from the white supremacist/anti-Semitic group Aryan Nations to "Al-Qaeda and Sheik Usama Bin Ladin, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah and to all Jihadis worldwide". It's nauseatingly ironic how these groups profess to be working towards the "downfall of the anti-life and anti-freedom System prevalent on this earth today."

Is their anyone who doesn't think that, barring the existence of what they see as their common enemies (i.e., Jews), these people would be cutting each other's throats and blowing each other up? Let's hope for all of our sakes that the world doesn't decline to the point where this theory is put to the test. We've already seen the preliminary match (Hitler vs. Stalin) and nothing good came out of that. At least we've yet to see, as far as I know, any public return of affection from the Islamic extremists for their Nazi friends...yet.

Captain's Quarters has opened a posting regarding euthanasia of children and newborns in the Netherlands and in France. The Groningen Protocol apparently codifies the practice in the Netherlands for children up to age 12 years. According to the posting, however:

"The problem, according to the AP, isn't limited to the Netherlands. In fact, the French may be the worst offenders, with a whopping 73% of all physicians surveyed have euthanized at least one infant with drug overdoses, the preferred method. That's 30 points higher than the Dutch, which still reports almost half of all physicians have killed newborns. Other countries in Europe report much smaller percentages, between 2-4%."

I've previously posted on the need to protect innocent life in "Terri Schiavo's Right to Live or Die", emphasizing that we need to be driven by the belief in the potential for one of God's miracles, and the need to protect innocent life. I sense that Captain Ed and I see eye to eye on this.

If you look at some of the comments to his post, however, you see the same elements of moral relativism creeping in that you see in the discussions as to whether Terri Schiavo should be allowed to live or die. At the risk of being labeled a "religious zealot" by one of the commenters, I still feel that the protection of innocent life best represents the moral purpose of humanity, and the real motives behind the termination of innocent life need to be reconciled between the decision makers and the Creator. I do not claim to be in a position to judge what is in the hearts of those who choose to terminate innocent life, either at a personal level or at a societal level. I humbly relinquish that judgment to a Higher Authority.

Terri Schiavo's Right to Live or Die

La Shawn Barber has posted a topic at her blog asking for feedback from her readers as to whether or not they believe that Terri Schiavo should be allowed to die. I have posted a couple of comments for this topic at La Shawn's site, under DBN, where much of the discussion has centered around the motives of the husband in having the feeding tubes removed, and the need/desire to protect innocent life.

There are 1 or 2 posters, however, who appear to be coming down on the side of moral relativism, i.e., its a difficult situation for everyone, both sides have a point, but the feeding tubes should be removed to alleviate everyone's suffering...Terri's, the parents, Terri's husband, etc. Since my blog is intended to be related to the concept that Good and Evil do exist, I feel that it is imperative that I post on Terri's case and, to the best of my ability, on Terri's behalf.

I have no issue with someone who decides, on their own, either proactively or reactively, to not have their life extended by artificial means. I would hope that this decision would not be reached impulsively, that reflection and prayer would guide a person to perceive whether this is God's plan for him/her. A decision as personal as this should only be made with God's divine guidance, for His reasons, that others may or may not ever understand.

This process has not been granted to Terri, nor can it be at this stage of her life. Instead, the decision is left in the hands of Terri's husband, whose motives are in question. Indeed, the circumstances under which Terri has ended up in this state also appear to be in question. Moral relativists seem to be ignoring these motives and circumstances, focusing instead on the "big picture" of whether technology should be used to extend the life of someone who will not exist without it.

The obvious evil here is whether Terri will be allowed to die based on questionable motives. We "moral absolutists", if you will, still need to be driven by the belief in the potential for one of God's miracles, and the need to protect innocent life.

I believe that the more sinister evil of Terri's story, however, lies in the detachment of the moral relativists who refuse to recognize that good and evil do exist. Ending an innocent life for the sake of perceived convenience starts us off on a slippery slope into further justification for abortion and euthanasia. If you don't believe me, just look at how the rules of abortion have changed since Roe v. Wade. Who would have believed in the 1970's that a practice as hideous as "partial-birth abortion" would be "acceptable" policy today. How far away are we from the time when the moral relativists want to euthanize all those who are incapable of caring for themselves. We've seen this happen in history before, haven't we?

Chris Field has posted a column over at Human Events Online asking where the Left has been on Nuclear Security now that the MSM is finally beginning to recognize the potential and growing threat posed by China. The test, in part, reads:

My take on why the MSM is beginning to report it now is that they will try to blame the Bush administration for the gathering storm. This is the same tactic that they used post-9/11 to blame the Bush administration for not recognizing the terrorist threat, disregarding the "ignorance is bliss" position taken by the Clinton-Gore administration regarding Osama Bin Laden and Al Qaeda.

Suffer the Little Children

In the "Welcome" post of my weblog, I defined several things which I consider to be inherently and unquestionably evil. One of those is the conscious or unconscious abuse and/or intentional exploitation of children, in whatever forms it may take. Here are just a few of the most very recent examples:

"66 face child sex ring trial" from CNN

"THE OTHER U.N. SEX SCANDAL" at Michelle Malkin's blog

Perhaps one of the most repulsive positions taken on promoting the exploitation of children can be found in Judith Levine's book "Harmful to Minors", glowingly reviewed here by the University of Minnesota press, which praises the book as "A radical, refreshing, and long overdue reassessment of how we think and act about children's and teens' sexuality". The entire premise of Levine's book has to do with "the perils of protecting children from sex". It doesn't get any more evil than this, folks.

I wonder if the guilty folks at the U.N. enjoyed the book (or will rely on it for their defense). If ever there was a precursor for bringing on Judgment Day, this abhorrent exploitation of children has got to be it.

Pardon Me, President Clinton

Check out this story from Fox News regarding the potential involvement of Clinton-pardonee billionaire fugitive (emphasis mine) financer Marc Rich in the UN Oil-For-Food scandal.

According to Fox News, "Rich, who currently lives in Switzerland, recently confirmed what his own company would not admit to FOX News last year - that he was authorized to buy and sell oil as part of the billion-dollar U.N. program."

"Rich has a long history of oil dealing; he was charged with tax evasion and violating the American ban on selling oil to Iran in the 1980s. He was pardoned by President Clinton in January 2001."

It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next week or two, but, pardon the expression (pun intended) something smells rotten in Switzerland.

John Kerry as Republican/Conservative Fundraiser?

With kudos to Polipundit, I've taken their suggestion and incorporated their "Kerry Kounter" into the heading of my weblog. I've made a slight modification, however. Rather than let Senator Kerry simply waste away the days before (if) he signs, let's use him as a fundraiser.

For each day that Senator Kerry doesn't sign his SF 180, let's all set aside $0.25 to donate to our favorite Republican/Conservative causes. We can send in our donations once he has signed the form and submitted it (I don't want to get tripped up on any nuances here). I would have set the counter at a higher price, but I don't expect he's going to sign it any time soon and I'm not a rich man.

Also, we should all send Senator Kerry a thank you note for supporting our cause.

Soderberg Trumpets Democrat's Patriotism

Clinton aide Nancy Soderberg, author of "The Superpower Myth: The Use and Misuse of American Might" was on Comedy Central's "The Daily Show' being interviewed by Jon Stewart. The following excerpts represent how "patriotic" the Democratic elites (or at least Nancy Soderberg) are to the US and its troops:

Soderberg: Well, I think, you know, as a Democrat, you don't want anything nice to happen to the Republicans, and you don't want them to have progress.

Soderberg: Well, there's still Iran and North Korea, don't forget. There's hope for the rest of us.

Is Hollywood Racist or Just Anti-Religious?

A couple of items jumped out at me from the newspaper this morning which I found links to on the Internet (although not the original sources, I'm sure).

The Contra Costa Times posts an article that addresses the PC applied to Will Smith's latest movie "Hitch", where an apparently conscious decision was made to exclude a white or African-American actress as his romantic interest in favor of a Latino actress under the pretext that this represented less of a problem for viewers of the movie. Apparently a white love interest is too taboo, while a black love interest would be rejected by the... wait a minute, by who? I don't know of anybody on the "right" side who would even consider this as a reason to not see the movie or who would be offended by it, but maybe the "left" side has a different perception. Who is really color-blind here?

Meanwhile, as reported over at the Liberty Forum (and reported through a number of different sites), Natalie Portman has apologized for participating in a kissing scene at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem for her upcoming movie that upset ultra-Orthodox Jews. The sensitivity of Hollywood in trying not to offend the races apparently does not extend to not offending any of the Judaeo-Christian groups (I'm assuming, I think correctly, that a movie director or producer would never even consider promoting a kissing scene at or near a mosque). By the way, I don't blame Natalie Portman for this. I hold the movie directors responsible as the ones thumbing their noses at selective elements of society. Which provides me with a convenient lead into another comment...

When are Hollywood actors/actresses going to come to the realization that much/most/virtually all of the nudity/sexual content in movies these days is much less about artistic expression or plot development than it is about some director/producer/whoever wanting to exercise their power to see somebody famous/attractive perform naked. Or maybe they don't really care? If the implication is that movies from the past weren't as good as those today due to a lack of nudity, I beg to differ. If the implication is that times have changed and this type of behavior is now acceptable and desirable in order for certain movies to be successful, please direct me to the poll numbers from the American public that support that contention. I'll even post them here. My personal opinion is that gratuitous movie sex is being forced down the public's throat.

I created this blog to promote my strong opinion that moral relativism is, essentially, crap. Good and evil do exist. In many cases it may be difficult to draw a distinction between the two, and there will always be differences of opinion. I recognize this, and hope to promote an environment of civil and reflective discourse of these topics as they relate to the topics that I will most likely post (politics, the MSM, foreign policy, education, judicial activism, etc.). In most cases, I'm hoping that I will be "preaching to the choir", as many of the current events that I see are patently obvious as either good or evil (at least to those who are willing to make a distinction). In that context, here are some of those "patently obvious" categories that I expect to be addressing on this blog:

Evil: The taking of innocent life (abortion, the case of Terri Schiavo, murder, etc.) and the rationalization in support of these things
Evil: The conscious or unconscious abuse and/or intentional exploitation of children, in whatever forms it may take
Evil: The imposition of religious or political will through totalitarianism, subjugating the will of the people
Evil: The intentional use of lies, deceit, half-truths, and/or omissions/distortions of fact to promote a political agenda
Evil: Attacks on the beliefs/postions of others with no basis in fact or supporting evidence (e.g., unsupported allegations, introduction/promotion of conspiracy theories, etc.)
Good: The protection of innocent life
Good: The objective investigation of facts back to the original source, regardless of the outcome
Good: The tolerance of differing opinions when those differences serve to promote the general good
Good: The challenging of differing opinions when those differences promote an explicit or implicit evil

I'm not promoting the idea that I have any special training or expertise in any of these areas. I will be offering only my own personal interpretation and perceptions of the things that I pick up in the news (Old and/or New media) and from other blogs. If I touch on something that will make others think about good and evil in a different way, for the general betterment of society, well, isn't that what blogs are for?

By all means, provide me with any constructive feedback that will help me improve my site (particularly those with technical and blogging experience that would be willing/able to lend me their insights). I'd really like to dress the site up with some better graphics/pictures.
